Rapunzel Red reimagines the classic tale for adults, a collaboration between Carol Ann Duffy and Liv Lorent for balletLORENT dance company. Framed from Rapunzel’s parents and the Witch's perspectives, it delves into desires, love, and loss. As Rapunzel is claimed by the Witch, her parents imagine her life, keeping her memory alive.
Shot cinematically over four days by Ben Crompton, it captures intimate struggles missed on stage. Touching on lust, nightmares, and love, it portrays the idealization of parenthood juxtaposed with grief. Choreography, narrated by Lesley Sharp, with Murray Gold's score, and stunning sets, make Rapunzel Red a dynamic experience.

Rapunzel Red has won Best Dance Film for the Beyond the Curve International Film Festival, Paris.
Beyond the Curve online screening will take place from 9th - 12th of August.
