Evaluations

At balletLORENT, evaluations are essential for our growth and excellence. They help us reflect on progress, celebrate successes, and identify areas for improvement.

These evaluations are not just about measuring performance, but about ensuring that we continue to innovate, collaborate, and excel in our artistic endeavors. They help us stay aligned with our goals, maintain our high standards of excellence, and nurture a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that balletLORENT remains a leader in the world of dance and storytelling.

balletLORENT’s Knitters, Movers, and Shakers

As part of our three-year funding from the Community Foundation, we set up the Knitters, Movers, and Shakers group at balletLORENT. This group, aimed at adults over 60, brought people together to knit props for The Velveteen Rabbit and join in movement and dance activities suited to their mobility levels. Sessions ran from April to September 2023.

Debbie Allan, a consultant evaluator and creativity researcher, assessed the project's impact and benefits for the participants.

BalletLORENT’s Youth Academy: Embracing diversity as a civil and artistic imperative

Evaluating innovative approaches to providing creative dance and theatre education for children and young people in Newcastle.

Debbie Allan's evaluation report examines the outcomes and impact of balletLORENT's year-long pilot Youth Academy project. The project was designed to provide regular weekly classes and end-of-term intensives for children and young people (CYP) who had previous involvement with the Company through community cast activities.

Community Cast Evaluations

We commissioned an external independent evaluator, Debbie Allan MSc to assess our community cast programmes for Snow White, Rumpelstiltskin and The Lost Happy Endings in Newcastle. Her evaluations look at our participation models and the impacts they have on our participants lives.
