Local Limehouse Pupils Join Our Cast at Sadler’s Wells East

Monday April 7th 2025Share page

We’re delighted to welcome twelve incredible children from Cyril Jackson Primary School in Limehouse to perform with us on stage at Sadler’s Wells East, from Wednesday 16 to Saturday 19 April.

These enthusiastic Year 2 and 3 pupils were selected after a brilliant workshop we held at their school, led by our very own Debbi Purtill and Gavin Coward. All aged between six and eight, they’ll be joining us in two scenes—sharing the stage with our professional cast in both Snow White and Snow White: The Sacrifice.

This is part of our national tour, and in every location we visit, we’re working with new groups of local children—bringing even more magic and community connection to the production. While our Limehouse performers won’t be going on the road, their time with us in London promises to be unforgettable.

The show features narration by Lindsay Duncan, who you may have seen recently in The Morning Show, and an original score by Murray Gold, known for his work on Doctor Who. We’re thrilled that the children will be part of such a remarkable team.

Their teachers are just as excited as we are:

Leonie Stafford-Williams, Cyril Jackson Primary School:
"This is an incredible opportunity for our pupils to discover the power of expression through ballet. It allows them to channel their creativity in a productive and inspiring way."

Alice Tomlinson, Cyril Jackson Primary School:
"This is a wonderful experience for our children. Opportunities like this aren’t always easily accessible, so it’s fantastic that they get to be part of something so special."

And from the children themselves:

Matilda, age 7:
"I think I was chosen because I show a lot of effort and enjoy dancing. I am excited to perform in Snow White. I love Snow White!"

Sufyan, age 7:
"I think I was chosen because I am always dancing, when I have a chance to. I’m really happy to be performing—now I can dance for as long as I like!"

As our Education & Projects Manager James MacGillivray says,

"For many children, taking part in a professional stage production is a unique and transformative experience. It builds confidence, creativity, and inspires collaboration."

We’re proud to offer these opportunities as part of our Young Cast initiative, enriching school arts provision and offering unforgettable moments to children and their families.

Our dance theatre version of Snow White is suitable for ages 5+, staying true to the heart of the Brothers Grimm tale, while Snow White: The Sacrifice is a powerful reimagining for audiences aged 16+, delving into the story of the Wicked Queen like never before.
