lullaby
Created during the lockdown of July 2020, in these restricted times, we wanted to offer our audiences a free meditative work that aims to calm and pacify. Maybe a work to fall asleep to...
Rating: U
Film length: 43:59
The solos are inspired by each dancer’s interpretation of being an ever revolving dancer in a music box.
It is a Durational Work, and you can have it on as a background to life. No need to get to the end, and no need to watch it all in one go. And watch as many times as you like, and share freely.
lullaby was edited by Vilte Balciunaite in Newcastle upon Tyne, while the dancers filmed themselves wherever they were (the North and South of England and also Scandinavia). Each dancer contributed to this work from their locality making it our greenest work to date.
lullaby was made as a creative response by each artist to a brief from Liv Lorent. The music was composed and played by Albie Crompton, sometimes drawing from recognisable themes to add to sense of familiarity and calm . Like the dancers, he would have been on The Lost Happy Endings tour had the theatres not been shut by the pandemic.
